RS Compositi · Composite Infrastructure Systems

Pultruded GRP structures.Engineered, manufactured, installed.

GRP structures for every setting where corrosion and maintenance drive the design. The system is the same. The application is the designer’s to define.

What we do

Pontoons, walkways, canopies, gratings.Where steel and concrete do not last.

RS Compositi engineers, prefabricates and installs pultruded GRP structures. We work where corrosion decides how long a structure lasts: ports and marinas, wastewater treatment plants, chemical industry, transport and the public realm. From structural design to installation on site, with a single point of responsibility.

The system

From the same profiles,different structures.

Over 200 pultruded sections, structural gratings and AISI 316 stainless connections. Every structure is a calculated configuration of the same elements: the geometry changes, the technology does not. Design follows CNR-DT 205/2007; the material answers to UNI EN 13706.

01

Systems engineering

Analysis of the operating context, design of the structural architecture and life-cycle planning.

02

Structural design

Analytical verification to CNR-DT 205/2007 and the reference standards for composite structures.

03

Composite technology

Pultruded GRP profiles, AISI 316 mechanical connections, materials chosen to stay in service.

04

System integration

Coordination between structure, foundations, services and the specific requirements of the site.

05

Life-cycle strategy

Planning for performance in service, room to extend, and less dependence on maintenance.

IPE

I-beam: the load-bearing section when span is the governing constraint.

The comparison

Galvanised steel and GRP, the same exposure.Drag to compare.

External GRP stairway, surfaces intact with no treatment
External steel stairway, widespread corrosion after years of exposure
Galvanised steelGRP
Two different structures with the same function — not the same one before and after: galvanised steel after years of exposure, and GRP, which needs no protection cycle.

The process

From the requirement to service.Seven steps, one responsibility.

  1. 01

    Requirement

The starting point is the constraint: environment, loads, permits.

  2. 02

    Survey

Site visit and analysis of the operating context.

  3. 03

    Design

System architecture shaped by the morphology of the site.

  4. 04

    Structural design

    Structural verification to CNR-DT 205/2007.

  5. 05

    Prefabrication

Finished modules from the works, not semi-finished parts on site.

  6. 06

    Installation

Installed with light plant, with no welding on site.

  7. 07

    Support

    Scheduled inspections. No routine maintenance.
